3 Types of people in how they use social media - Shaykh Muhammad Baazmool

People regarding social media are one of three types

1st - The one using it for that which does not oppose Allah and he uses it for inviting (to the religion) by transmitting the speech of the trustworthy scholars and transmitting with verification from the speech of the people of knowledge and (he uses it) to contact relatives, neighbors, companions and acquaintances. So Allah has opened for this person a great door from the doors of good and rewards.

(Allah says)

وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ قَوْلًا مِمَّنْ دَعَا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا وَقَالَ إِنَّنِي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ

“And who is better in speech than the one who calls to Allah, does righteous actions and says I’m indeed from the Muslims” (41:33)

2nd- The one who uses it for that which opposes the religion of Allah and he doesn't care that he backbites and mocks (others) and that he transmits (info) from websites that are not trustworthy, rather he looks at them and reads whats on them, perhaps he even follows images of women who are not covered. (Listening to) this and that (was said) so he does not come with good. So this person has opened for himself by these programs on social media a door from the doors of evil and sin.

3rd- As for the third, this is the one who uses these means of (social media) bringing harm upon himself, family and children. An example of this is someone is happy with his child and he puts pictures of his young daughter or son on Twitter, Facebook or YouTube or like the one who places a video clip of his son and he has memorized the Quran or portion of it. Or the example of the one who goes out with his family to a restaurant and takes pictures of himself with his family at the restaurant or at a children's amusement park or he takes a picture of a table spread of food in which his wife cooked and displays it publicly. And he is not paying attention to the fact that the ones who see these pictures are not always from his loved ones. Rather they are from those who are mad, and jealous. Perhaps it may be from the brokenly poor. So he brings upon himself and children the evil eye, envy and the same evil.

How many families have split up? How many wives have been divorced? How many children have become sick and their condition has changed after these video clips?

So it is upon the one whose condition is as such to fear Allah regarding himself, family and children and that he does not bring evil and bad upon himself by way of the harm of his actions.

Keep in mind (the Hadeeth) “Seek help for fulfilling your needs by concealing for verily, everything that has a blessing in it is envied.”

الناس في وسائل التواصل أحد ثلاثة ؛

من استغلها فيما لا يخالف الله ، واستعملها في الدعوة، بنقل كلام العلماء الثقات، والنقل بالتثبت من كلام أهل العلم، والتواصل بها مع الأرحام والجيران والأصحاب والمعارف.

فهذا قد فتح الله له بابا عظيما من أبواب الخير والأجر والثواب، {وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ قَوْلًا مِمَّنْ دَعَا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا وَقَالَ إِنَّنِي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ} [فصلت: 33].

والثاني من استعملها في ما يخالف شرع الله، فلا يهتم أن يغتاب، وأن يسخر، وأن ينقل من مواقع غير موثوقة، بل يطالعها ويقرأ ما فيها، بل قد يتتبع صور النساء غير المتحجبات، والقيل والقال، فلا يجيء بخير.

فهذا قد فتح على نفسه ببرامج التواصل بابا من أبواب الشر، والآثام والذنوب .

وأما الثالث ، فمن استعمل هذه الوسائل فجر الضرر على نفسه وأهله وولده، مثل ذاك الذي يفرح بولده فيعرض صور ابنته الصغيرة أو ابنه الصغير، على التويتر أو الفيس بوك أو على اليوتيوب، أو مثل الذي يعرض مقطعا لابنه وقد حفظ القرآن أو شيئا منه، أو مثل ذاك الذي يخرج مع أهله إلى المطعم فيصور نفسه مع أهله في المطعم، أو في ملاهي الأطفال، أو يصور سفرة الطعام التي طبخته زوجه، ويعرضها أمام الملأ؛

ولا ينتبه إلى أن من يرى الصور أو المقاطع ليس من المحبين دائما، بل قد يكون من المبغضين ، الحاسدين. وقد يكون من الفقراء المكسورين ، فيجر على نفسه وولده العين والحسد ونفس السوء.

وكم من أسرة تفرقت .

وكم من زوجة تطلقت.

وكم من ولد مرض وتغير حاله، بعد مثل هذه المقاطع.

فعلى من هذا حاله أن يتق الله في نفسه وأهله وولده، ولا

يجر على نفسه السوء والشر بسوء تصرفه.

وليتذكر : "استعينوا على قضاء حوائجكم بالكتمان فإن كل ذي نعمة محسود".
