Beneficial Advice in using ones life and time – Shaykh Uthaymeen رحمه الله

The advice for my brothers in relation to the internet and these satellite stations is that they fear Allah regarding them themselves and that they know they were not created for this. They were (only) created for the worship of Allah and if they bring themselves down to resemble the animals which is to satisfy their wants and desires, they will lose the worldly life and the hereafter and Allah’s refuge is sought.

So it is upon my muslim brothers that they protect and guard their religion and time and that they do not waste their very precious time. By Allah one (extra) minute is better than 1000 dirham (or dollars). Do you see when death comes to one of you; if is said to a person “give us all of the worldly life and we will delay for you one minute” he will say yes.

For this reason Allah said:

حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدَهُمُ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ارْجِعُونِ (99) لَعَلِّي أَعْمَلُ صَالِحًا فِيمَا تَرَكْتُ ۚ كَلَّا ۚ إِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَائِلُهَا ۖ وَمِن وَرَائِهِم بَرْزَخٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

(100)} [المؤمنون : 99-

"Until death comes to one of them and he says “ may Lord return me so that I may do some good deeds from what I left, nay it’s only a statement that they say and behind them is the barzak until the day they are resurrected." (al-Mu’minoon: 99-100)

I ask Allah a good ending for us and for this reason it was mentioned in a hadith: “There is no deceased person except that he has regret” and if he was a doer of good he will regret that he didn’t do more and if he was a wrong doer he will regret that he didn’t seek the pleasure and forgiveness.

Protect and guard your life for indeed it is more precious than gold or silver. If a person will not waste wealth so how can he waste his life which upon it surrounds happiness or misery.

Oh Allah make us from the people of happines.
