Giving Dawah to common folk - a question from sisters posed to Shaykh Jamal Al-Haarithi

سؤال وجه للشيخ أبو فريحان جمال الحارثي -وفقه الله- عبر بريده بتاريخ 10 رجب 1435 هـ .. واستأذناه في نشره؛ فأذن شكر الله لهوجزاه خير الجزاء

A Question directed to Shaykh Abu Farihaan Jamal al-Haarithee حفظه الله

السؤال:

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

لدي سؤال فضيلة الشيخ -وفقكم الله-:

يشترك معنا أحيانا في مجموعات الواتس أخوات عاميات

تكون صورهن الشخصية محرمة ..

يتم تنبيههن ولا يستجبن مع الأسف

فهل الأولى إخراجهن من المجموعة أم الإبقاء عليهن رجاء استفادتهن مما يوضع من العلم الشرعي وتصحيح المعتقد؟

وجزاكم الله خيرًا

Sometimes common sisters participate with us in whatsapp groups, and they have their personal pictures which are forbidden. This has been brought to their attention but they not responded unfortunately. So is it best for us to remove them from the group or leave them in hopes that they will benefit from those things which are placed (there) from religious knowledge and correcting the belief? May Allah reward you with good.

الجواب:

وعليكم السلام

Wa Alaikum asalaam

إذا أخرجتموهن من المجموعة لمن يذهبن؟

If you remove them from the group, to whom are they going to go?

ومن يعلمهن؟

And who will teach them?

وما فائدتكن مع بعضكن متعلمات وطالبات؟

And what benefit is there with some of you as learners and students?

هل فقط تستعرضون مهارتكن في نقل الفوائد لبعضكن لا غير؟

Is it only that you present the skills you have in transmitting benefit to some of yourselves and not others?

أين جهودكن في دعوة العوام؟

أين جهودكن في تكثير سوادكن بانضمام إحدى العوام لصفوفكن؟

Where are your efforts in calling the common folk? Where are your efforts in increasing your numbers by adding one (or some) of the common folk into your ranks?

أين صبركن على مخالطة الناس من بني جنسكن؟

أين كن من فقه الدعوة؟

Where is your patience in mixing with the people from your kind/ gender? Where are you in having fiqh (i.e. Understanding) in calling (to Allah)?

أمن العقل أن نترك العوام كالبهائم لا يفقهون؟

Is it from intelligence that we leave the common folk like cattle, not understanding?

الأمر يحتاج إلى علم وعمل ودعوة وصبر.

فاستعينوا بالله واصبرن عليهن وادعوهن باللين والحكمة والدليل وعدم الشدة معهن .

The affair requires knowledge, action, calling and patience. Seek help with Allah and be patient with them. Call them with kindness, wisdom and with evidence and without being harsh with them.

وتذكرن كيف كنتن من قبل فمن الله عليكن.

وقد قال تعالى:

{يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا ضَرَبْتُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَتَبَيَّنُوا وَلا تَقُولُوا لِمَنْ أَلْقَى إِلَيْكُمُ السَّلامَ لَسْتَ مُؤْمِنًا تَبْتَغُونَ عَرَضَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا فَعِنْدَ اللَّهِ مَغَانِمُكَثِيرَةٌ كَذَلِكَ كُنْتُمْ مِنْ قَبْلُ فَمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَتَبَيَّنُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا}

And remember how you were before, then Allah bestowed His favor upon you. And Allah says

"O you who believe! When you go (to fight) in the Cause of Allah, verify (the truth), and say not to anyone who greets you (by embracing Islam): "You are not a believer"; seeking the perishable goods of the worldly life. There are much more profits and booties with Allah. Even as he is now, so were you yourselves before till Allah conferred on you His Favours (i.e. guided you to Islam), therefore, be manifested and clear. Allah is Ever Well-Aware of what you do.

وهذه الآية تذكير لي ولكل شخص هداه الله واستقام أن يرفق بغيره عند دعوته له للتوبة ويتذكر كيف كان وكيف أنه في ذلك الوقت يحتاجلشخص يأخذ بيده لبر الأمان برفق ولين

This ayah (i.e. verse) is a reminder for me and every individual that Allah has guided and made upright, to be gentle with others during his call to them in repenting and that they remember how they were and how they were during that time. This requires for the individual to take the person by his hand to safety with kindness and gentleness.

وابلغي أخواتك من النشيطات للدعوة أن يلين جانبهن ويتلطفن بالمدعوات ويظهرن محاسن الدين ورفقه وسهولته كما نشره محمد صلى اللهعليه وسلم وأصحابه

Convey to your sisters; those who have the energy for dawah (i.e. calling) to be easy going and kind with those whom they are calling and make apparent the good qualities of the religion, it's gentleness and easiness just as Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and his companions spread it.

وإن كان هناك من نفع أنفعكن به؛ فأشير وأرشدكن إلى مقال لي بعنوان: "كيف ندعو العوام"
