Shirk (Making partners with Allah) - Shaikh Zayd al-Madkhali رحمه الله

Al Allamah Shaikh Zayd al Madkhali, may Allaah have mercy on him said:
Indeed it is an obligation upon the Ummah, when they hear the following speech of Allaah the Mighty and the Majestic;
《إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَغۡفِرُ أَن يُشۡرَكَ بِهِۦ وَيَغۡفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَن يَشَآءُۚ .....》
Surah An Nisa 4:116
“Verily! Allaah forgives not (the sin of) setting up partners (in worship) with Him, but He forgives whom He wills sins other than that..”
And His saying, The Mighty and Majestic;
《... إِنَّهُۥ مَن يُشۡرِكۡ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدۡ حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ وَمَأۡوَىٰهُ ٱلنَّارُۖ وَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِنۡ أَنصَارٖ》
Surah Al Maidah 5:72
“Verily, whosoever sets up partners (in worship) with Allaah, then Allaah has forbidden Paradise to him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers) there are no helpers.”
....that they seek to find out about the type of shirk that Allaah The Most Glorified, The Most High, has allocated this severe punishment to. This shirk that makes Jannah forbidden for the mushrik, and makes them enter the fire for all eternity. Upon understanding the implications of this severe punishment, it is incumbent upon the Muslim to safeguard themselves from this shirk, and the one who falls into that. It is not allowed for the Muslims to then defend the one who has fallen into this shirk, thinking that this will bring them close to Allaah, The Most Glorified, The Most High.
